Extended Warranty Configurations

Step 1: Add Item

• Fill in the Item Code with () for the extended warranty. Eg: Extended Warranty (1+5)
• Fill in the Item Name, category etc and make sure the item type is 'Warranty'
• Make sure the the item is 'Serial Number Support'

Step 2: Go to Control Panel > EMP Configurations > Trading

• Search for 'Extended Warranty Item Search for Members Only'.
• If the extended warranty would be for members only, make sure to check the box. Else, remain the box unchecked.

Step 3: Go to Control Panel > EMP Configuration > Trading

• This to configure whether user need to track the item movement (whether Direct Receiving Stock is needed or not)
• If user does not want to trace the movement, make sure to check the box. Else, remain the box unchecked
• When this box is enabled or checked > it allow user to issue Full Screen Cash Sale and Create Invoice with negative quantity

Step 4: Go to Control Panel > EMP Configurations > Trading

• Extended Warranty Serial Number > Enabled
• This configuration to allow user to key or linked the Item Serial Number to the Extended Warranty item 

Step 5: Key In Direct Receiving Stock (GRN) - base on configuration on Step 3

• In this case, the configuration on Step 3 is ENABLE → proceed to Step 6
• If the step 3 is DISABLE → means that user want to trace the movement of the warranty item or disallowed negative stock on warranty item
• Proceed to Key in GRN manually or Upload GRN
• Make sure to Key in the Warranty Book Serial Number when doing GRN

Step 6: Perform Sales Transactions

• Go to Full Screen Cashsale / Create Invoice
• Select the 'inventory item'(Serialized Item) you would like to sell > eg: Item Code: SERIAL with SN 1031

• Select the 'warranty item' and fill in the Product Serial No of the item which is sold
  • Key in the Product Serial No (if any) > this is Extended Warranty Serial Number. Eg: EXTENDED1001
  • Key in the Item Code → this is Inventory Item Code. Eg: SERIAL and Item Serial No

OR 

• • Scan the Item Serial No → this is Inventory Item Serial Number and System will Auto fill up the Item Code 

• The price of the extended warranty will match the price you created in the Add Item function.

Step 6: Report

• Please open different tab and key in home URL with mgt-extended-warranty-report.do
• Eg: Home URL - "https://wavelet-training.wavelet.systems/emp/", Therefore for the Extended Warranty Report URL Link: "https://wavelet-training.wavelet.systems/emp/mgt-extended-warranty-report.do"

• The Product Type Column → takes from EMP Item Category Level 6
• The Product Brand Column → takes from EMP Item Category Level 4
