As you know, NOTES:

  • Inventory GL is populated when the following transactions are

...

  • done → system will calculate the INV value accordingly depend either by Transaction Price or Cost Price
    • Goods Received Note
    • Purchase Return
    • Invoice

Thus, by using the formula above, the system is able to calculate Acc Inv Value(C).

...

  • Inv Value based on Historical MA (A*C) only takes into consideration all transactions which involved Stock Quantity, either Quantity is being deducted or

...

  • incremented → when user perform RESET MA, this is not being captured

...

Info

Why when stock balance quantity is ZERO, but Acc Inv Value(C) still showing some values?

This is caused by Reset of MA. For example :

Thus, after step 3, you will see that your Stock Balance Quantity is actually ZERO, but your Acc Inv Value(C) will be showing RM10. However, as mentioned earlier, the difference between the Acc Inv Value(C) and inventory GL is you Reset MA value, thus,

Acc Inv Value(C) : RM10
Reset MA : - RM10
Total : RM0

Info

Why is the Acc Inv Value(C) showing negative value?

This can happen in various situations, for example :

  1. Back-dated Transactions

Thus if you generate you Historical Stock Balance report as of 2008-01-04, below is what you will see :

...

  • as no movement detected
  • Inv Value based on Historical MA (A*C) might show some value (E.g: RM 10) while the Stock Balance is Zerodue to Reset MA
    • E.g: ( Acc Inv based on Historical MA (A*C) : RM10, Reset MA : - RM10 → Total : RM0)
  • Inv Value based on Historical MA (A*C) might shows negative value → due to various reasons (E.g: Back Dated Transactions)
    • E.g: (Acc Inv based on Historical MA (A*C) = RM100 - RM190 = - RM90)
